Functional Polyurea Protection Coating
In the flotation coal preparation process, flotation equipment is subjected to material erosion and chemical corrosion over long periods. Equipment wear and corrosion not only shorten their service life but also negatively impact coal preparation efficiency. With its excellent properties, spray polyurea technology offers a reliable solution for wear resistance and corrosion protection in flotation coal preparation equipment. This manual will comprehensively introduce the application of spray polyurea in flotation coal preparation equipment.
(1)Equipment without polyurea protection
1. Challenges in Equipment Protection
●Severe Wear: Solid particles in slurry continuously erode surfaces, causing precision loss and shortened lifespan.
●Chemical Corrosion: Harsh reagents damage equipment, leading to leaks and operational instability.
●High Maintenance Costs: Frequent shutdowns increase labor and material expenses.
2. Core Advantages of Spraying Polyurea
●Superior Wear Resistance: Wear rate is only 1/18 of natural rubber (test data: 8mg vs. 146mg).
●Rapid Curing: Gels in 10 seconds, walkable in 1 minute—slashes downtime.
●Seamless Coating: Conforms to any surface, eliminating leaks and localized peeling.
●Adjustable Thickness: Ranges from microns to centimeters in a single spray, tailored to equipment needs.
●Strong Adhesion: Bonding strength >10 MPa with steel, ensuring long-term durability.
●Eco-Friendly: 100% solid content, zero VOC emissions, compliant with environmental standards.
●All-Weather Application: Unaffected by temperature or humidity, ideal for harsh environments.
3. Application
1.Base Material Treatment: Thoroughly remove release agents, oil stains, dust, and other impurities from the base material surface. Repair defects through methods such as grinding or sandblasting to increase surface roughness, enhancing the compatibility and adhesion between the coating and the base material. For example, using sandblasting can create a uniform rough surface on the base material, improving the adhesion of the coating.
2.Top primer: Primer is used to close the substrate and enhance the adhesion of the coating to the substrate. Choose primer compatible with polyurea materials and apply it evenly on the treated substrate surface.
3.Spray: Use a dedicated high-pressure two-component 1∶1 polyurea spray equipment and spray gun. During the spraying process, strictly control the pressure difference between components A and B to ensure that the material is mixed evenly and the coating quality is guaranteed.
4. Application in Flotation During Coal Preparation
1.Stirring Tank:The stirring tank is subjected to long-term wear from the abrasive action of the mineral slurry. After spraying polyurea, the polyurea coating, with its high wear resistance and strong adhesion, effectively resists the erosion by the mineral slurry, reducing equipment wear. Compared to traditional rubber plate protection, the polyurea coating has no seams, preventing leakage and localized peeling issues, with a service life up to ten times that of rubber.
2.Flotation Machine:The tank, impeller, and other components of the flotation machine frequently come into contact with pulp, bubbles, and chemicals during operation, leading to severe corrosion and wear. After spraying polyurea, these parts can be provided with excellent wear-resistant and anti-corrosion protection. The chemical resistance of polyurea ensures stable performance when facing various chemicals, guaranteeing the normal operation of the flotation machine and enhancing its flotation efficiency.
3.Aggregate Trough:The aggregate trough is used to collect the pulp, and its overcurrent surface is easily eroded by the pulp. The spray polyurea technology can form a dense protective layer on the overcurrent surface of the aggregate trough to prevent the erosion of the pulp. The construction efficiency is high, and the protective treatment can be completed quickly, reducing the idle time of equipment.
5. Maintenance
●Daily Inspection:Regularly check the polyurea coating on the surface of the equipment to see if there is any wear, scratch, blistering and other phenomena. If minor damage is found, repair it in time to prevent problems from expanding.
●Avoid Sharp Object Collision:in the process of equipment use, try to avoid contact between sharp objects and the polyurea coating to prevent the coating from being scratched, affecting the protective effect.
●Regular Cleaning: clean the surface of the equipment of pulp and chemical residues regularly to avoid their long-term attachment on the coating surface, which will cause corrosion to the coating. You can use mild detergent and soft cloth for cleaning.
6. Notice
1.Construction Personnel Training:Construction personnel should be professionally trained to be familiar with the construction process and equipment operation method of spraying polyurea to ensure the construction quality.
2.Material Storage: Polyurea materials should be stored in a dry, cool and ventilated environment to avoid direct sunlight and high temperature. The storage temperature is generally controlled at 5-35℃to prevent material deterioration.
3.Safety Protection: During the construction process, construction personnel should wear protective gloves, goggles, masks, and other protective equipment to avoid material contact with skin and the respiratory tract to ensure personal safety.
